Quick answer
Why use ISP proxies for ad verification?
ISP proxies for ad verification let you load a publisher's page from a fixed consumer-ISP IP in a given country and record which ads, placements and landing pages appear there. SteadyProxy rents ISP IPs for $2.24 each, or $20.86 for 10 markets, per 30 days as of October 2026, paid in crypto with no KYC. Check campaigns you run or manage, and never click the ads.
What are the key facts?
| What you check | Ad presence, creative, placement, landing page, redirects, currency |
|---|---|
| Why ISP | Ad systems often filter known datacenter traffic, so a datacenter IP may see fewer ads |
| Setup | One ISP IP per market where you buy media |
| 10 markets | $20.86 for 10 ISP IPs / 30 days |
| Markets with pages | UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, plus US IPs |
| City | A city can be chosen only when the checkout lists it; otherwise the IP is allocated in the country you pick |
| Never | Clicking ads or reloading pages to create impressions |
Why use an ISP IP rather than a datacenter IP for ad checks?
An ISP IP is more likely to receive the ads a local user receives. The Media Rating Council's invalid-traffic guidelines treat known datacenter traffic as general invalid traffic, and many ad systems filter it before serving. A check from a datacenter IP can therefore show no ad, or a house ad, where real users see your campaign. To be honest about our product: ISP (static residential) IPs are registered to consumer internet service providers but run on servers in datacenters, not on home devices. Some filters recognize this too, so compare your results with the campaign's own delivery reports.
How do I run an ad check from a fixed IP?
Run each check the same way so results are comparable:
- List campaigns and markets. Four campaigns in the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands need 4 IPs.
- Give each IP its own fresh browser profile, with no logged-in accounts.
- Open the publisher pages where the campaign is booked.
- Take a screenshot with time, IP, country and URL.
- Never click the ad: take its destination URL from the campaign set-up, open that URL separately and record the final landing page.
- Repeat at fixed times, for example 9:00, 13:00 and 19:00 local time.
Keep the records with the campaign report.
What can a fixed IP show that a platform preview cannot?
A fixed IP shows the live page around your ad, not only the creative. With it you can check:
- the page and content next to the ad (brand safety);
- the language and currency of the landing page in each market;
- redirects added by a partner between the ad and your landing page;
- whether a geo-targeted campaign appears outside its target market.
A platform preview tool cannot show those four points, because it does not load the publisher's page from the market.
How many IPs does an ad verification team need?
One IP per market you check. Prices for 30 days, as of October 2026.
| Markets checked | Plan | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 ISP IP | $2.24 |
| Up to 5 | 5 ISP IPs | $10.88 |
| Up to 10 | 10 ISP IPs | $20.86 |
| Up to 25 (country and city checks) | 25 ISP IPs | $50.46 |
What should you not do during ad verification?
Do not interact with ads in a way that costs anyone money or changes campaign figures. That means:
- never click ads, yours or a competitor's: paid clicks without a real visitor are click fraud;
- do not reload pages to create impressions;
- keep the request rate low on each publisher site;
- do not reach blocked targets: Banking, government, payment-portal and ticketing sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587.
Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension. See the acceptable use policy.
What else do buyers ask?
Can I verify a client's campaign rather than my own?
Yes, when you manage or audit that campaign for the client. Keep the client's authorization with the report. Checking a competitor's ads by viewing public pages is possible, but never click them: a click costs the advertiser money and counts as invalid traffic.
Can I target a city for ad checks?
A city can be chosen only when the checkout lists it; otherwise the IP is allocated in the country you pick. Many campaigns target at country level, so a country IP is enough. For city campaigns, compare the city that IP databases report for the IP with your campaign's targeting before you rely on the result.
How do I check which location an ad system sees?
Open https://ipinfo.io/json through the proxy and record the country, city and network. Ad systems use their own databases, which can disagree with this one. If a check looks wrong, compare two or three databases before you conclude that the campaign is mis-targeted.
Why do I see different ads at each visit from the same IP?
Ad auctions run at every page view, so the winning ad changes even when the IP stays the same. A fixed IP removes one variable, your location. Repeat the check at set times and count how often your campaign appears, rather than reading one visit.
Are datacenter IPs useless for ad verification?
No. A datacenter IP ($1.34) is fine to check landing pages, redirects and the geo-routing of your own site. For checks of which ads are served to users, an ISP IP is closer to what a local user receives, because many ad systems filter known datacenter traffic.
Can I run ad checks with a headless browser?
Yes, with a normal browser library and a low request rate. Our Playwright guide shows how to set a static proxy. Do not use plugins that hide automation or solve verification tests: they are outside our policy. Keep one browser context per IP, so each market keeps its own cookies and results stay comparable.
Which ports and protocols work for ad checks?
HTTP, HTTPS (CONNECT) and SOCKS5. Browsers and most ad-checking tools use HTTP(S); SOCKS5 works too. Username and password, or an IP allowlist (up to 10 IPs). Set the proxy per browser profile, not system-wide, so your own traffic does not pass through the market IP.
