Where do static ISP proxy IPs come from?

Who registers our IPs, where they are hosted, what we can and cannot promise, and how to check an IP yourself.

Quick answer

Where do SteadyProxy's static IPs come from?

We resell static ISP and datacenter IPs from established upstream partner networks that lease IPv4 ranges registered to internet service providers or hosting networks. ISP (static residential) IPs are registered to consumer internet service providers but run on servers in datacenters, not on home devices. SteadyProxy rents each IP to one customer for 30 days, from $2.24 as of October 2026, with no KYC and crypto payment. Suppliers are not named; stock varies by country.

What does "registered to an ISP" mean?

It means the IP belongs to an address block that the registry lists under a consumer internet service provider. Every IPv4 block is recorded by a regional internet registry (RIR), such as RIPE NCC, ARIN or APNIC. The record names the organisation that holds the block and the autonomous system number (ASN) that announces it.

A WHOIS or ASN lookup on one of our ISP IPs shows a broadband or telecom network. That registration is the reason websites class the IP as "ISP" or "residential". It says nothing about the physical machine behind the IP. A dedicated datacenter IP, by contrast, is registered to a hosting network, and lookups show it as such.

Where are ISP proxies physically hosted?

ISP (static residential) IPs are registered to consumer internet service providers but run on servers in datacenters, not on home devices. The ISP leases or announces the address range, and the proxy software runs on server hardware with stable power and network links. This is why the IP can stay fixed for 30 days.

Most "static residential" products on the market work the same way. We say it openly because it is what you buy: an IP that looks like an ISP connection in registry data, hosted like a server. Our guide What is an ISP proxy? covers the details.

No consent question arises, because no consumer device is involved. A static ISP or datacenter IP runs on a server, not on a phone, a laptop or a home router. There is no app, no SDK and no consumer bandwidth in our supply. Consent rules for device-based networks therefore do not apply to these products. If we ever sold IPs that run on consumer devices, this page would state who confirms the device owners' consent.

Why do we not name our suppliers?

Supplier contracts are commercial and confidential, so we do not publish them. Instead, you can verify each IP after delivery. Run a WHOIS or ASN lookup, or open https://ipinfo.io/json through the proxy. Check the registered organisation, the ASN and the country. A specific ISP or ASN can be ordered only when the checkout lists it; check the registered network of each IP after delivery. If an ISP IP is not registered to an internet service provider, send the lookup result to support and we will review the IP.

Why does stock vary by country?

Stock varies because the number of free IPs in each country changes as other rentals start and end. Availability varies by country; the checkout shows what is online. A city can be chosen only when the checkout lists it; otherwise the IP is allocated in the country you pick. We have country pages for the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, plus 18 city pages. Several IPs in one order can share the same /24 subnet; subnet diversity is not guaranteed; our subnet diversity guide explains when that matters. Some countries are not available, for legal or sourcing reasons, including countries and regions under comprehensive sanctions.

What should you ask any static proxy seller?

QuestionOur answer
Where are the ISP IPs hosted? On servers in datacenters, not on home devices
Who else uses the same IP?No one during your 30-day rental
Can I pick a city, ISP or ASN?Only when the checkout lists it
Are IPs in one order from different /24 subnets? Not guaranteed
Do I keep the same IP after renewal? Not guaranteed after the end date; renew on time
What happens to the IP after my rental? It returns to stock and can be rented to another customer

What else do people ask about sourcing?

Does "static residential" mean a real home connection?

Not at SteadyProxy, and usually not elsewhere either. A static residential (ISP) proxy is an IP registered to a consumer ISP and hosted on a server in a datacenter. Websites and geolocation databases read the registration, so they see an ISP network. The traffic does not pass through a consumer connection. This setup is what keeps the IP fixed for the full 30-day rental.

Was the IP used by someone else before me?

Possibly. Each static IP is rented to one customer for the whole 30-day period; reselling or sharing access with third parties is not allowed, but IPs return to stock after a rental ends and can be rented again. A dedicated IP is yours alone during the rental; it may have had earlier renters. If an IP does not work, write to support: we repair it or replace it with another IP in the same country when stock allows.

Can I order a specific ISP, ASN or city?

A specific ISP or ASN can be ordered only when the checkout lists it; check the registered network of each IP after delivery. A city can be chosen only when the checkout lists it; otherwise the IP is allocated in the country you pick. We do not promise a named ISP or ASN in any country, because supply changes from week to week. If a precise network matters to you, check the checkout options before paying, then check the registered network of each IP right after delivery.

How can I check the registered network of my IP?

Run a WHOIS lookup on the IP, or request https://ipinfo.io/json through the proxy. The answer shows the ASN, the organisation that holds the block and a country. Geolocation databases can disagree on the city, and they update on their own schedule. Keep a dated copy of the result if your work depends on it.

Do you check what customers do with the IPs?

We do not read the content of your traffic. Banking, government, payment-portal and ticketing sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587 are blocked. Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension. Connection metadata kept for up to 30 days lets us match a report to an account. The privacy policy lists exactly what is kept and for how long.

Why are datacenter IPs cheaper than ISP IPs?

Datacenter IPs are priced lower across the market: on 19 October 2026, MarsProxies listed one datacenter IP at $1.99 and one ISP IP at $2.99 for 30 days. At SteadyProxy, as of October 2026, one datacenter IP costs $1.34 and one ISP IP $2.24. Many websites treat hosting networks with more suspicion, so pick ISP IPs when the registration type matters.
